This Privacy Policy explains how Fiction Flock (“Fiction Flock,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use fictionflock.com and related features (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.

  • Profile information — anything you add to your profile, such as a bio, links, or an avatar.
  • Content you create — reviews, lists, recommendations, comments, mood boards, and similar material.

  • Activity on the Service — books you save, quests and challenges you complete, badges and entries you earn, and similar reading activity.

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, operate features of the Service, and understand how the Service is used. 4. Email and marketing

We use a third-party email service, MailerLite, to send newsletters, updates, and other communications. When you sign up, your name and email may be shared with MailerLite to deliver these emails. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. We may still send you essential account or service messages (for example, password resets or important notices).

5. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:

  • Service providers who help us run the Service under our instructions — for example, GoDaddy for website hosting, Titan for email, and MailerLite for email marketing.
  • Other members and the public, but only the information you choose to make visible — such as your display name, profile, and the reviews or recommendations you publish.
  • Affiliate partners’ websites (such as Amazon and Bookshop.org) when you click their links and visit their sites; once there, their own privacy practices apply.
  • Legal and safety reasons — if required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Fiction Flock, our members, or others.
  • Business transfers — if the Service is ever transferred to another owner, your information may be transferred as part of that.

6. Third-party services

The Service links to and works with third-party services, including booksellers, our email provider, and book-data providers. We’re not responsible for the privacy practices of those services, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.

7. How long we keep your information

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and afterward only as long as necessary for legitimate business or legal purposes. Backups may persist for a limited time after deletion.

8. Your choices and rights

You can:

  • View and update your account and profile information by logging in;
  • Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time;
  • Ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information by contacting us at hello@fictionflock.com.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights:

  • California residents may have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and correct personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information.
  • EU/EEA and UK residents may have rights under the GDPR/UK GDPR, including the rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal information, and to data portability.

9. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@fictionflock.com and we’ll delete it.

10. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no online service can be completely secure. Please use a strong, unique password and let us know right away if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account.

11. Where your information is processed

The Service is operated in the United States. If you access it from elsewhere, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

We may update this Policy from time to time. We’ll update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide notice through the Service where appropriate.
