Love Not Required

by Talia Basma

In this heartfelt Muslim romance, two friends must decide whether to protect their hearts or take a leap of faith for a love that could change everything.

Safiyyah’s dream of launching her bioengineering career as a biracial Muslim woman is finally within reach, but her parents’ move to London threatens to derail her plans. Determined to stay, she proposes a marriage of convenience to Aayan, her childhood friend now immersed in the grueling demands of his medical residency. Aayan, with his own work obstacles and past crush rekindling, agrees.

As they navigate their new arrangement, what begins as a practical solution quickly becomes a rocky emotional journey. Personal and professional pressures test their bond, forcing Safiyyah and Aayan to confront their deepest fears and desires. They must decide whether to cling to what is comfortable or embrace the vulnerability of true love, risking their hearts in the process.

Meet tALIA!

Hi, my name is Talia Basma.

I love to write, so much so I graduated from the University of California, Davis with a degree in both Creative Writing and Literature. While I enjoy poetry and fantastical stories, my passion is writing contemporary romances with diverse characters that are always Muslim.

When I’m not writing, I’m indulging my homebody self with hobbies like reading, baking, and lettering.

I’m currently working on my second and third books for the Love Not Required series. One has fake dating, the other is frenemies to lovers – can you guess who the couples are?
