Spearmint & Stardust

A Characters & Candles Box

When I read that this book is Star Wars meets Bridgerton, I knew I was in for a ride. And from the very first pages and my literary introduction to the sassy, had-enough, protagonist, I was hooked.

There’s action on the battlefield, a slow, smoldering chemistry between the “lab rat” main character and one of the most dangerous men in the universe, and just enough don’t-take-it-too-seriously kind of banter to make this a fun and entertaining read.

The world-building is fantastic, the main character is smarter than she looks, and this is book one in a series, so if you fall in love the same way I did, there are more space opera antics to be had.

  • Smart and sassy main character
  • A love interest who isn’t too self-important
  • Fantastic worlds/planets and technology I wish we already had
  • Elements of espionage and just a touch of magic
  • Ilona Andrew, Chloe Garner, Jenny Schwartz
  • Sci-fi elements combined with funny romance
  • Matchmaking, pop culture, sparkling drinks, and doing the right thing.

What's Inside This Box?

The Book

Few people know the name Vesper Quill. To most folks, I’m just a lowly lab rat who designs brewmakers and other household appliances in the research and development lab at the powerful Kent Corp. But when I point out a design flaw and a safety hazard in the new line of Kent Corp spaceships, everyone knows who I am—and wants to eliminate me.

I might be a seer with a photographic memory, but I don’t see the trouble headed my way until it’s too late. Suddenly, I’m surrounded by enemies and fighting for my life.

I don’t think things can get any worse until I meet Kyrion Caldaren, an arrogant Regal lord who insists that we have a connection, one that could be the death of us both.

The name Kyrion Caldaren strikes fear in the hearts of people across the Archipelago Galaxy. As the leader of the Arrows, the Imperium’s elite fighting force, I’m used to being a villain, as well as the personal assassin of Lord Callus Holloway. Even the wealthy Regals who live on the planet of Corios are afraid of me.

But everything changes when I meet Vesper Quill. I might be a powerful psion with telepathic, telekinetic, and other abilities, but Vesper sees far too many of my secrets.

The Story-Inspired Goodies

Work/Plan/Travel/Repeat Coptic Journal

Vesper is a woman on a mission. She works, she’s got travel in her future, and we highly suspect it’s just part of her nature to plan and keep track of all the details. The kind of details you could keep in, say, a journal like this one.

Shoot For the Moon Paperweight

Whether you prefer the dark side or the lit side of the moon, this pretty paperweight will remind you that it’s okay to dream big. And failure is all about perspective.

Brittany Spearmint Candle

Classy Smashed

Vesper often has visions a pale blue flower that gives off the scent of spearmint. Add a little pop-culture vibe that the scent and you get this fresh, delightful candle.

Be Wild Moon Child Gel Pen Set

Vesper wouldn’t be caught dead without a gel pen. Or four. This fun set includes six gel pens so you’re never without. Each one is printed with an inspirational space-themed saying to brighten your day no matter what you’re writing.

Blueberry Lemon Lip Balm

Food and drink on Corios is everything Vesper knows and loves, but better. Blueberries are some how bluer, and citrus brighter. This lip balm is everything we imagine these flavors would be on this far off planet.

Spearmint Lip Balm

The little blue flowers aren’t the only things that give off the scent of spearmint. Kyrion is also minty fresh, and somehow we can’t help but think this might be Vesper’s new favorite lip balm.
